At AECOM, we are currently recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to join our Dublin office.
The Senior Project Manager will act as the Contracting Entity’s representative, with overall responsibility for managing a portfolio of projects from planning and design through to successful completion and commissioning.
The role is accountable for delivering projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the required specifications, ensuring all project goals and objectives are achieved in line with the Contracting Entity’s Employer’s Requirements and the organisation’s strategic objectives for the portfolio.
Programme Requirements, Standards & Performance
Oversee and monitor project delivery across schedule, interfaces, cost, variations, contracts, and risk, engaging with relevant teams and functions as required.
Develop and maintain the Project Execution Plan, ensuring alignment with the Contracting Entity’s standards, methodologies, and strategic objectives.
Establish and manage the project relationship with the Airport Transformation Manager.
Team Management
Lead and manage a team of Project Managers responsible for delivering multiple projects.
Oversee day-to-day activities, ensuring appropriate project management disciplines and controls are in place to achieve targets across cost, schedule, quality, and safety.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive resource plan to support project delivery.
Provide technical and contractual guidance to Project Managers in the execution of their responsibilities.
Report on the overall performance of projects within the portfolio.
Work closely with the Programme Director to resolve issues and mitigate risks impacting delivery.
Project Management Activities
Lead project coordination, ensuring all interfaces are identified and effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle.
Maintain the Responsible/Accountable/Consulted/Informed (RACI) matrix.
Coordinate with technical teams to manage design consultants and external service providers.
Chair design review meetings and communicate design approvals to the Contractor.
Ensure all design changes are clearly communicated to relevant stakeholders.
Provide monthly reporting on project progress, including construction activities during delivery phases.
Maintain and update the project risk register, ensuring regular review at progress meetings.
Identify and implement improvements to project management processes, tools, and templates.
Apply performance management techniques to monitor and enhance project outcomes.
Manage the change control process effectively.
Ensure clear and structured communication between the project team and client through regular meetings and formal reporting.
NEC-Specific Activities
Review and accept contractor programme submissions in accordance with NEC requirements.
Lead and operate in the spirit of mutual trust and cooperation.
Issue communications and documentation as required under the NEC Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) and fulfil all contractual obligations.
