Job Description
Primary functions & responsibilities
- Define and drive a comprehensive product strategy and multi-year roadmap for Ares Secondaries, ensuring alignment with firm-wide objectives and business needs.
- Establish clear OKRs to track progress and impact, continuously refining the roadmap based on stakeholder input, and firm priorities.
- Provide strategic direction across the entire product lifecycleâfrom ideation and development through launch and iterationâensuring product alignment and consistency in user experience throughout the investment lifecycle.
- Foster deep partnerships with diversified stakeholdersâincluding Investment Teams, Operations, Controllers, and Technologyâto align on strategic goals, gather localized requirements, and ensure adoption of scalable, outcome-oriented solutions.
- Promote a unified product vision while accommodating business specific nuances.
- Technology and Firm-Wide Contribution: Actively contribute to Technology and company-wide priorities, offering input beyond the immediate product role to support broader firm objectives and initiatives.
- Partner with high caliber engineering teams on delivering differentiated software solutions for Ares Secondaries
- Ensure a culture of excellence, collaboration, inclusivity and accountability.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelorâs in Computer Science, Engineering or related field is required
Experience Required:
- 5+ Years of product management experience.
- 3+ years of Private Markets experience in Asset Management.
- Experience in Fund-Of-Funds Secondaries is preferred.
- Experience in green field engineering initiatives is required.
- Understanding of Alternatives Investment Lifecycle and associated systems is preferred.
- Understanding of SDLC is required
- Understanding of product and system design is required
- Knowledge of modern UI/UX best practices.
- Basic understanding of modern software development stack including GitHub/GitLab, CI/CD.
- Strong understanding in streaming and messaging platforms like Kafka.
- Experience in using GenAI LLMs to accelerate ideation and content creation is required.
- Understanding of cloud computing concepts is preferred but not required
- Experience with eFront and Dynamo required
