The Baldwin Group, a nationwide Registered Investment Advisor, is seeking a Retirement Consultant to join our Financial Services team. The Retirement Consultant is responsible for the strategic planning, consulting, guidance, marketing, investment analysis and servicing of the assigned book of retirement business.
Establish, maintain, and nurture long-term client relationships
Proactively schedule and attend regular meetings with clients to ensure clientsā needs are continually being met.
Independently consult and advise with clients on complex retirement plan issues.
Responsible for coordinating data collection and presentation preparation for client meetings.
Conduct investment analysis on plan investment options with the help of the national investment team.
Be able to deliver investment due diligence provided by the firmās investment team to clients during investment committee meetings and effectively communicate recommendations to clients in a clear and concise manner.
Remain abreast of financial market trends, changes in laws, and regulations related to retirement plans
Coordinate and conduct colleague education meetings and be able to answer colleague questions as it pertains to investments and portfolio allocations.
Act as a resource on any compliance issues, perform compliance reviews and communicate compliance issues to client.
Address, resolve, follow-up and communicate resolutions to clients; update systems of record to track issues and resolution
Help manage internal reporting/tracking components required of the retirement department including CRM database account set up and upkeep
Operate in accordance with established firm Financial Services internal protocol and procedures.
Understand and represent the services provided by the firmās Financial Services, provide advice, develop solutions for current and future project plans, execute strategies to consistently illustrate value and retain existing clients
Exercise positive interaction and cooperation with internal staff and senior leadership.
Participate in team assignments and special projects as needed.
Education: Undergraduate/Bachelorās degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field required
Experience (years and type of experience): Minimum of 10 years related experience in financial planning, retirement planning, or equivalent required
Certification(s): Certified Retirement Counselor certification preferred
License(s): FINRA Series 63 License (preferred Series 6, 7, 65, or 66 Licenses) required
Skilled in CRM, Mutual Funds, and conducting investment analysis on plan investment options
Exceptional technical knowledge of financial planning concepts including investment, risk management, tax planning and estate planning
Ability to help manage internal reporting/tracking components required of the retirement department including CRM database account set up and upkeep revenue report preparation, electronic and hard copy file maintenance, etc.
Ability to quickly gain understanding of services provided by the firm
Ability to execute strategies to consistently illustrate value and retain existing clients
Ability to make sound judgements and decisions based on objective analysis and multiple perspectives
Establish a willingness to take on new projects and responsibilities
Ability to share knowledge and experience with staff
Demonstrates the organizationās core values, exuding behavior that is aligned with the firmās culture
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Ability to learn any other appropriate program or software system used by the firm as necessary
This role will be located in the Irvine, CA office.
