Job Summary
Barings is seeking a detailāoriented and analytical professional to support the AssetāBacked Finance (ABF) platform in a Deal Surveillance Oversight role. This position is responsible for supporting the ongoing monitoring and surveillance of ABF transactions at both the deal level and loan level, ensuring that portfolio performance, compliance with transaction requirements, and emerging risks are identified, documented, and communicated effectively.
The role focuses on supporting established surveillance processes and preparing recurring and adāhoc materials used by internal stakeholders, senior management, and external parties. Working closely with investment professionals, portfolio management, data, and servicing partners, the individual will help ensure timely, accurate, and consistent surveillance across public and private ABF strategies, including residential, consumer, and commercial asset finance and whole loan purchases.
Primary Responsibilities
- DealāLevel Surveillance Support
- Support ongoing surveillance of ABF transactions by monitoring performance against deal structures, covenants, triggers, and key risk metrics
- Assist in tracking transactionālevel events, exceptions, and performance trends
- Prepare recurring dealālevel surveillance materials, summaries, and dashboards for internal review and governance forums
- LoanāLevel Surveillance & Data Support
- Support loanālevel monitoring activities, including review of collateral performance, concentrations, delinquency trends, and other assetāspecific metrics
- Assist with review and validation of loanālevel data received from servicers, trustees, and data providers
- Help identify data anomalies, performance outliers, or emerging risks and escalate findings appropriately
- Surveillance Materials & Reporting
- Prepare standardized surveillance reports, presentation materials, and supporting analyses for internal stakeholders and senior management
- Support adāhoc surveillance requests related to portfolio performance, asset behavior, or transaction events
- Maintain organized records of surveillance materials, analyses, and supporting documentation
- Process & Oversight Support
- Support established surveillance processes and workflows to ensure consistency, timeliness, and accuracy
- Assist in documenting surveillance procedures, controls, and escalation protocols
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance surveillance efficiency, data quality, and transparency
- CrossāFunctional Coordination
- Coordinate with internal teams (investment, portfolio management, operations, risk, and data) to support effective surveillance and issue resolution
- Liaise with external parties such as servicers, trustees, and data vendors to support surveillance and information gathering
- Support responses to internal reviews, audits, or inquiries related to surveillance activities
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in surveillance, portfolio monitoring, or analytical roles within asset management, structured credit, or financial services
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work with dealālevel and loanālevel data
- Comfort preparing recurring reports, dashboards, and presentation materials
- Ability to follow defined processes and support controlāoriented workflows
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage recurring deliverables and deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience working with large datasets a plus
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative, teamāoriented mindset

Base Salary Range: $105,000-135,000 and additional incentive compensation.
