We are seeking an experienced Avaya Telephony Engineer to support and manage our enterprise telephony infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in administering, maintaining, and optimizing Avaya telephony systems in a complex, high-availability environment
Core Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day administration and maintenance of the Avaya voice platform
- Perform configuration changes, moves, adds, and deletes (MACDs)
- Manage dial plans, call routing, and voice policies
- Maintain Avaya servers, gateways, and endpoints
- Monitor system performance and conduct routine health checks
- Troubleshoot and resolve telephony issues and outages
- Manage firmware/software updates and patching cycles
- Work with vendors and carriers for circuit provisioning and troubleshooting
- Integrate Avaya systems with other platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, SIP-based applications)
- Maintain documentation, including system diagrams and change records
- Participate in on-call support rotation and after hours maintenance windows
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Solid understanding of VoIP protocols (SIP, H.323)
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, QoS, VLANs)
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
