The Material Engineer is responsible for ensuring all materials used in the project comply with specifications and are approved by relevant authorities. Key responsibilities include:
- Review and approve Contractor's proposed materials and methods as delegated by the Resident Engineer.
- Oversee Contractor's daily activities, including work assignments and on-site performance.
- Conduct factory visits and supplier plant inspections as required.
- Monitor material delivery performance and accuracy of materials used on site.
- Review Contractor's testing requests and completed reports.
- Coordinate with Contractor's supervisory personnel regarding schedule, sequence, and work methods.
- Perform continuous field inspections of work in progress and consult with Resident Engineer's and Contractor's supervisory staff.
- Prepare written and oral reports for the Resident Engineer on contractual and procedural matters.
- Maintain Material Engineer's Daily Diary.
