Buildings University (BU) supports the technical, professional and career development of Buildings employees. BU strives to cultivate professional employees who are knowledgeable and credible. BU provides employees with resources they need to succeed by offering intensive technical training, including various certifications, continuing education opportunities, professional development, and integrity training.

The Department conducts four academies annually, with an average of 20 new inspectors per cohort.
