POSITION SUMMARY
The Identifier inspects each horseās tattoo, colorings and markings and compares them to the horseās registration records prior to each race; inspects and verifies the identity of new horses on the track; provides support to higher level management staff; and performs related tasks within area of assignment.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)
Minimum of three (3) years experience saddling and handling race horses. Identification experience preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):
Abiltiy to maintain all Regulatory licenses within assigned state of employment.
Must successfully pass background check
Must successfully pass an alcohol and drug screening
Must be willing to work a variety of shifts to include swing shifts and holidays if needed
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
Knowledge of:
Operations, services and activities of a racing identification operations; a variety of methods used to identify horses; knowledge of thoroughbred racing and identification procedures; barn and valet operations; pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
Ability to:
Effectively identify all forms of horse marking; communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work; prepare clear and concise reports; interpret and explain policies and procedures; interpret and apply federal, state and local policies, laws and regulations.
