The Land Surveyor will be responsible for performing precise surveying and setting-out activities for stormwater and microtunneling works, including shafts, tunnels, pipelines, chambers, and related structures. The role ensures that all construction alignments, levels, and coordinates are established accurately and in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, and RTA/DM standards.
- Perform topographic, control, and setting-out surveys for stormwater and microtunneling works, including pipelines, shafts, manholes, and associated civil structures.
- Establish, verify, and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, and reference grids in coordination with the contractor's survey team, applying approved IFC drawings and coordinate systems in compliance with RTA and project requirements.
- Check and verify horizontal and vertical alignments, pipe inverts, tunnel drives, shaft locations, and microtunneling drive alignments, ensuring compliance with allowable tolerances prior to and during construction.
- Ensure that all setting-out activities are carried out in accordance with approved method statements and calibration procedures.
- Conduct as-built surveys and verify the accuracy of contractors' as-built drawings and survey results prior to submission and certification for interim payments.
- Maintain up-to-date survey records, field books, and digital data files, ensuring full traceability of survey operations.
- Coordinate with the contractor and supervision team to resolve survey discrepancies or deviations on-site, and participate in pre-construction and progress meetings to provide input on survey status and required actions.
- Ensure full compliance with HSE standards during all field operations, particularly in confined-space and shaft areas.
- Provide support during testing, commissioning, and handover stages by verifying final levels and coordinates.
