Role Summary
As a Cost Manager for Data Centre Projects with a CSA (Civil, Structural & Architectural) focus, you will support the delivery of cost management services across data鈥慶entre builds, site development, superstructure works, and architectural packages. You will be responsible for pre鈥慶ontract estimating, procurement support, cost planning, and post鈥慶ontract cost control.
Key Responsibilities
Project Support & Coordination
- Demonstrate solid understanding of pre鈥慶ontract and post鈥慶ontract cost management processes.
- Support cost estimating, budgeting, and cost planning for CSA elements, including civil works, structural works, building envelope, and architectural finishes.
- Assist with tendering and procurement activities such as preparing tender documents, reviewing bids, conducting tender analyses, and compiling contract documents.
- Monitor post鈥慶ontract cost variances and support change control procedures, escalating major changes where necessary.
- Work effectively across data鈥慶entre environments, ensuring coordination between CSA works and other disciplines (e.g. MEP, fit鈥憃ut, external works).
Governance & Reporting
- Prepare monthly post鈥慶ontract cost reports and support their presentation to clients.
- Contribute to value engineering discussions focusing on buildability, material selection, and design efficiency.
- Engage actively with clients, consultants, and contractors at all project stages.
- Recommend improvements to templates, systems, and processes within the cost management function.
- Ensure key insights, benchmarks, and lessons learned are uploaded into internal knowledge鈥憇haring platforms.
- Support Assistant Cost Managers as needed and collaborate effectively with the wider team.
