The Cost Consultant (Controls) day-to-day responsibilities include:
Reviewing month end reporting data with the delivery teams and identifying priority projects to be reported up to the leadership team.
Supporting project managers in all elements of project controls including forecasting, scheduling, change management and risk management. The Senior Consultant does this through advising the project managers on utilizing controls tools within Project Governance Framework and through Project Management Software, and reviewing the outputs they produce.
Reviewing contract changes prior to their execution in the financial system.
Reviewing pre-tender requests prior to projects going out to tender to confirm budget is available and that the cost information has the appropriate breakdown for entry into the financial system.
Supporting Project Managers in transferring capital project costs to assets and the financial closure of projects.
Experience in using controls tools or Project Management Software functionality to support Project Controls.
Reporting on project cost variances, and providing status updates on projects of interest when requested.
Working as a team and effectively engaging different stakeholders is essential to carrying out the Senior Consultant role. The Senior Consultant should:
