Accountabilities:
- Devise a plan to reduce the high-level risk identified in the hazard analysis.
- Control all risks associated with non-routine and emergency work through a permit to work system.
- Conduct routine work permit audit along with the respective area line managers
- Plant Contractor Management ā Guide in implementing systems for identification, induction and access control working closely with the contractorsā representatives.
- Project Contractor Management ā Guide in implementing construction safety systems through contractor safety coordinators
- Manage plant modifications/projects through a change management system which includes pre and post safety audits.
- Train and implement for effective usage of LOTO system for all types of energies.
- Ensures proper operation and control of all wastewater treatment and recycling systems, for comprehensively abiding with statutory regulations.
Subject Matter Expert (SME):
- Act as the HSE subject matter expert on all Environmental Health Safety-related areas and drive the compliance, Operations of water and wastewater treatment system, Process Hazard Analysis, Inspection, and auditing of the system.
- Provide in-depth knowledge support on all HSE related legal & statutory like factories act, environment protection act, hazardous management rules etc.
- Support Plant site in conducting and reviewing due diligence on brownfield, greenfield, and operational seed processing units, ensuring 100% legal compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-function team to lead the Emergency response team, Fire Fighters and First Aiders.
- Support the WTP / ETP / STP O&M team for day-to-day operation.
- Guide the Site team to showcase the development of HSE in external competitions.
- Derive the site to achieve ZERO INJURY AND PPE FREE ZONE.
Capability development:
- Coordinate with Site Leadership team to lead, train and develop members at the site on all the HSE activies
- Ensure that all employees are inducted, as per the safety procedures.
- Identify the training needs of staff as per the training matrix and liaise with Line Managers to nominate staff for training courses.
- Monitor staff training and report on training targets/compliance to the Site Lead & Line Managers.
- Conduct awareness day celebrations like World Environment Day, National Safety Week, World Earth
- Day, World Water Day etc.
- Drive Rewards and Recognition to develop a safe culture among the workforces
- Co-ordinate & Lead Monthly Site safety committee meetings.
Communication:
- High-level verbal and written communications skills. (English and vernacular language)
- Rapport building with various stakeholders around the neighborhood of the Site.
- Ability to communicate with different teams.
- Liaison with Government and statutory authority.
- Handles matters related to reporting and investigation of industrial accidents (both internal & external
- as per matrix).
Documentation:
- Compileās safety documentation as per the Safety Manual requirements for the facility and keeps readily accessible to site employees and management. Keeps updated on an annual basis.
- Ā· Maintains all records as are necessary relating to first aid, Medical Treatment cases, Loss time Injury, Disabling Injury, and Fatality.
Monitor and review:
- Legal compliance tracker review and countermeasures for the gaps identified on monthly basis.
- Lead & coordinate with Lead auditors for internal comprehensive safety audits in the site.
- Management Information System (MIS): KPI ā leading & lagging indicator of HSE function on monthly basis and present to the top management.
- Conduct various HSE inspections and audits on themes like PPE audit, machine guard audit, and Interlockās audit.
