Mgr, Application Engineering- Power

Applications Engineering Manager position in Renesas’s Power group for both automotive and non-automative applications. This team develops the highest performance integrated power management IC solutions. The environment is highly dynamic and very fast paced. As the Applications Engineering Manager, you should be able to lead an application engineering team in Asia, provide support to both internal and external customers, for a range of existing and future Renesas PMIC products. Primary function includes leading the team, helping in product definition, characterization, generating customers facing technical collaterals, providing customer technical support and failure analysis. Interface with customers, FAEs and cross function teams including design/product/test/quality/FuSa/marketing, to provide technical and application support for our products. Key to success is establishing customer relationships, leading the team in customer design wins and working diligently through any customer issues that arise.

Responsibilities:

• Direct and lead the technical application engineering team in go-to-market and customer design-in activities for PMIC products in automotive and non-automotive applications.
• Generate customers facing technical collateral such as datasheets, application notes, tech brief, technical promotion slides and training material, evaluation boards, reference designs, circuit model, parameter calculation tools, PCB layout guideline, etc. Help product definition and functionality characterization.
• Support marketing/Sales/FAEs to facilitate the design-in of our products as well as providing technical assistance to address customer technical questions such as customer circuit design review, debug, troubleshooting and field return analysis.
• Perform physical silicon device evaluation at board level based on defined evaluation plans, including understanding the silicon behavior and functionality in detail.
• Drive cross functional interactions with Design, System, FuSa, Test, Product and Quality Engineering to resolve product issues.
• Develop and evaluate personnel to ensure efficient team operation and team growth.
