Role Overview
RCL - Reitmans Canada Limited is offering an exciting executive leadership opportunity to onboard a Vice President, Distribution & Logistics. Reporting directly to the Chief Global Sourcing Officer, this pivotal role holds full accountability for the end-to-end performance of a large, high-impact distribution center that sits at the core of our supply chain.
This is more than an operational leadership role—it is an opportunity to shape the future of distribution at RCL. The Vice President will define the long-term vision for the facility while driving operational excellence, cost discipline, scalability, and a strong safety culture. By leading transformation through automation, advanced technology, and talent development, this leader will ensure the distribution center continues to evolve in step with the demands of a fast-paced, omnichannel retail environment.

Core Accountabilities
Strategic & Future-State Leadership
- Own and execute the long-term distribution center strategy, including capacity planning, automation and robotics roadmap, and multi-year infrastructure investments.
- Define the future-state operating model and develop data-driven business cases for capital and technology investments.
- Anticipate and assess emerging trends in logistics, automation, AI-driven optimization, and supply chain technologies, leading adoption where clear value exists.
Operational Leadership
- Lead all inbound, outbound, inventory, and transportation operations to ensure safe, efficient, cost-effective, and scalable performance.
- Establish disciplined operating rhythms, standardized processes, and clear performance expectations across the distribution center.
Business Partnership
- Partner closely with Global Sourcing, Merchandising, Planning & Allocation, Store Operations, IT, and Finance to align distribution capabilities with enterprise priorities.
- Provide executive-level insight on service, cost, risk, and capacity trade-offs to support business decision-making.
Continuous Improvement & Performance
- Drive productivity, service, and cost improvements through Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
- Define, monitor, and manage KPIs including cost per unit, order accuracy, on-time delivery, productivity, safety, and quality.
- Lead and govern relationships with third-party logistics providers, carriers, and external partners.
People, Safety & Compliance
- Build and develop a strong leadership bench and high-performing distribution organization.
- Champion a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, and labor requirements.
