The Global IP Leader drives the company's intellectual property (IP) strategy, ensuring consistency and protection of intangible assets on an international scale. They serve as a cross-functional reference for the marketing, R&D, and legal teams, ensuring that IP issues are aligned with business objectives and associated risks.
Activities :
- Define and implement the company's intellectual property (IP) strategy in line with the group’s objectives, structure international governance, manage risks and opportunities, while optimizing the budget and ensuring ongoing competitive intelligence.
- Supervise and manage the IP portfolio, ensuring its monitoring, valuation, and protection.
- Support internal stakeholders (marketing, R&D, legal) in decision-making relating to IP issues.
- Act as an advisor and expert in interpreting IP rights, maintaining a balanced approach between business priorities and risk management.
- Monitor the performance of IP tools in use and suggest improvements where necessary.
- Manage the IP team, which consists of IP managers and assistants.
- Define (with HR) IP training needs of the organisation and coordinate / animate trainings
- Instil an IP culture within teams through training, communication, and support initiatives, in order to strengthen understanding, ownership, and integration of IP issues in daily practices.
- Ensure the management and defence of intellectual property rights by coordinating legal actions, external counsel, and contractual compliance.
- Review and secure the IP clauses in contracts (development, services, supply, licences, transfers) prior to contract submission for approval, in coordination with the Legal Department and in accordance with the applicable rules.
