The role of the Technical Trainer is a key part of our Client Solutions framework. As the GMNZ Technical Trainer, you'll be responsible for delivering training programs and projects as assigned by the Training Academy Manager on behalf of a client. You'll be responsible for delivering comprehensive training programs on an exciting range of vehicles, including Chevrolet Corvette, Silverado, Cadillac, GMC Yukon and Isuzu Trucks.
You will be accountable for achieving outcomes related to the delivery of these training programs and agreed activities, providing technical and operational information to assist in the development of activities where required. Additionally, you'll offer valuable feedback from your "in the field" experiences when interacting with the wider client network. You'll attend Train the Trainer sessions in Australia to update your skills and knowledge, which you will then share with the New Zealand GM Technicians to enable them to be more successful in their roles and to foster a "fix it right first time" culture.
Objectives of the Role:
- Develop and maintain key relationships within the GMANZ team
- Work collaboratively with the Instructional Designers to assist with the design and delivery of client technical training programs and activities
- Provide subject matter expertise to GMANZ representatives and the dealer network as required
- Work collaboratively with Training Coordinators to develop schedules and calendars to ensure training delivery times are maximised and resources fully utilised
- Continuously review and provide feedback on course content and facilitation methodologies that reflect changing technologies in products, parts and accessories
- Participate in all GMANZ required professional development and product induction programs as required.
- Ensure that all training and facilitation activities are performed incorporating all GMANZ specific dealer standards, processes, and business initiatives
Additional Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the GMANZ Academy Manager, Master Technical Trainer, Training Administrator and Instructional Designers in any required tasks.
- Evaluate and facilitate all training activities, continuously seeking opportunities for improvement.
- Actively participate in Train-the-Trainer (TTT) events, pilot sessions, personal development activities, and workshops.
- Engage in activities to maintain the currency of all qualifications and skill levels, and upskill as required.
- Maintain high-level relationships with clients, internal and external stakeholders, consultants, and supplier personnel.
- Participate in regular cross-functional WIP reviews with team members to offer feedback on client-specific issues and progress.
- Keep abreast of developments in related fields with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Assist in trialling and developing new methods, technologies, solutions, and frameworks.
- Ensure that all training and development events are delivered to the highest standard and that all attendees are actively engaged.
- Foster a performance-oriented culture and an ecosystem that promotes new ideas.
- Undertake all aspects of administration related to training delivery, including completing course rosters, pre-course and post-course briefings, assignment/test scoring, and data input.
- Attend factory or brand-led events as a representative of the brand, including Train-the-Trainer events, technical briefings, and product launches.
- Maintain credibility by staying up-to-date with new and revised learning and development theories, practices, methodologies, and technological advancements.
