The IVR Application Architect is a senior technical authority responsible for defining, owning, and evolving the architecture of IVR applications supporting large-scale voice contact center environments. The role ensures that IVR solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, and aligned with long-term business and technical strategy.
Working closely with Product Owners, Project Managers, IVR Engineers, and cross-functional teams, the Architect translates business goals and non-functional requirements into clear architectural direction. This role shapes how IVR platforms are structured, integrated, and optimized, with a direct impact on customer experience, system reliability, and delivery consistency.
Architect remains technically deep and engaged, validating implementations through design reviews, architectural guidance, and selective hands-on involvement when required.
Responsibilities:
- Own and define end-to-end IVR application architecture across platforms and integrations
- Translate business and non-functional requirements into architectural designs and principles
- Design scalable, reliable, and high-performance IVR solution architectures
- Define and maintain architectural patterns, standards, and best practices for IVR systems
- Provide architectural leadership and technical direction to IVR Engineers and the development team of 2-5 developers
- Review designs and implementations to ensure architectural compliance and quality
- Guide integration strategies between IVR applications, web services, and internal systems
- Identify architectural risks, performance constraints, and scalability limits early in the design phase
- Support complex production issues from an architectural and systemic perspective
- Collaborate with Project Managers on technical planning, estimation input, and delivery feasibility
