Basic Job Function
The Laboratory Director develops and implements the clinical, technical, fiscal and quality programs of the laboratory .the needs of the clinicians of customer hospitals and labs; and all activities to ensure that the laboratory is in full compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Other responsibilities include:
· Develops, implements and evaluates business processes to perform the T-Spot test as reference lab for customer hospitals, laboratories as well as our patient segment.
· Drive Continuous Improvement projects and mindset throughout the Lab continuously evaluating and improving the efficiency of the laboratory operation. The Memphis lab should be the model of processing efficiency for T-Spot at the lowest overall cost and labor requirements.
· Develops and implements equitable criteria and processes which meet company standards, for selection, evaluation, promotion and terminations of all staff within designated area(s) of responsibility.
· Ensures compliance with regulatory standards, laws and requirements of requisite agencies by employing appropriate systems/processes.
· Determines, develops, evaluates and is accountable for laboratory budgets, administrative strategies and information systems in support of clinical programs(s).
· Leads individuals and work groups to continuously improve performance by creating an environment that ensures application of quality principles and techniques to achieve desired outcomes.
· Creates environment, which fosters excellence, sensitivity and leadership.
Key Qualifications & Capabilities
· A strong knowledge of laboratory operations, supported by a proven track record of career growth in laboratory leadership positions of increasing responsibility demonstrating true
· An assertive and collaborative leadership style that can recruit, retain and motivate a large team to perform a single test in large volumes (e.g., a “manufacturing line”) in a just-in-time, zero defects environment.
· A high level of intelligence, with a track record of grasping and solving complex issues quickly and effectively.
· Experience with regulatory and accreditation of laboratory operations (i.e. CLIA, CAP, and JCAHO)
· Requires the ability to effectively manage a large group of employees within assigned unit/department and to persuade and negotiate with peer level managers on issues and programs that impact assigned unit/department. Work requires effectively dealing with conflicting views or issues and mediating fair workable solutions.
· Ability to manage and resolve basic day-to-day employee issues, addressing those issues of a more serious nature including all corrective actions/performance improvement plans and terminations of employment with Human Resources.
· Ability to work independently and demonstrate a high degree of personal & professional initiative.
· Ability to work in global, high volume operation as well as a multicultural collaborative team environment.
· Ability to create cross-functional teams driven by project / business needs; ability to lead teams and secure outcomes without direct line authority.

Educational Requirements
· Requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of a degree in Medical Technology, Immunology or related fields and including six to seven year's experience.
