Job Description
- Perform microbiological laboratory test activities including bioburden testing, endotoxin testing, environmental monitoring, lethality testing, product inoculation, microbial enumeration and general laboratory activities.
Required Qualifications:
- BS/BA in Microbiology, Biology or related scientific field.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
- Medical Device or pharmaceutical experience laboratory/sterilization experience and knowledge of pertinent medical device sterilization documentation including FDA.
Position Responsibilities:
- The individual will become one of the technical experts at the microbial test methodologies.
- In this role they will work independently but under the guidance/direction of more senior members of the team, create, update / maintain and perform microbiological procedures including: bioburden, endotoxin, environmental monitoring, lethality testing, product inoculation, microbial enumeration and general microbiological lab methodologies,
- perform data analysis with Excel or similar software packages, coordinated and verify that equipment is calibrated and profiled on schedule,
- Act as a liaison between the sterilization engineering staff and the microbiology test laboratory to ensure that the requested/required testing is effectively facilitated and performed in accordance with regulations and specifications within a timely manner, write and maintain laboratory procedures, order supplies, coordinate general lab maintenance.
