Position: Scientist
Location: South Plainfield, NJ
Duration: Contract to hire (3-6 months contract)
Job Summary
- Scientist II reports to and takes direction from the Associate Director, R&D.
- Scientist II is knowledgeable in the areas of method development, method validation, and drug characterization.
- Develop and validate methods for experimental drug candidates.
- Perform characterization studies for impurities, degradants, intermediates, and active components of drug substances and drug products.
- Technical experience must include analysis of proteins by HPLC (SEC, RP-HPLC, IEX), electrophoretic techniques (SDS-PAGE, IEF, Western blotting), and spectroscopy (UV and VIS).
- Write and review method transfer protocols and method SOP鈥檚
- Perform analytical testing to support process development and release/stability testing.
- MS or PhD in a scientific discipline or equivalent and 3-4 years related experience; may include post-doctoral experience.
- Excellent knowledge of scientific principles and concepts.
- Other special projects and/or duties may be assigned by Management.
- Biophysical techniques (CD, FTIR, DSC); mass spectrometry (electrospray, MALDI); capillary electrophoresis; peptide mapping; amino acid analysis; protein sequencing
- Working knowledge of important aspects of analytical development in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly pertaining to cGMP and method validation requirements
