The Academic Reading Teacher will deliver high-quality reading instruction to grades K-12. This role involves developing engaging lesson plans aligned with Arkansas state standards, assessing student progress, and fostering a positive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Curriculum and Instruction
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the Arkansas English Language Arts Standards.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.
- Incorporate technology and real-world applications to enhance reading comprehension and engagement.
- Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback.
Classroom Management
- Establish and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning and respecting all students.
- Implement effective classroom management techniques to promote student engagement and discipline.
Collaboration and Professional Development
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary lessons and share best practices.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and methodologies.
- Engage with parents and guardians to communicate student progress and address concerns.
Other responsibilities (As Needed)
- Supporting student recruitment, enrollment, and retention activities as needed
- Write letters of recommendation for students as needed.
- Additional tasks as requested to support student achievement, school culture, and team collaboration.
