KIPP Miami seeks an experienced High School Algebra Teacher to design and deliver a rigorous, collegeâpreparatory Algebra program. The ideal candidate has a proven record teaching high school mathematics and can lead courses such as Algebra I, Algebra II, or Geometry, while preparing students for advanced math pathways including PreâCalculus, AP Calculus, AP Statistics, AICE Mathematics, and IB Mathematics. Coursework will integrate career and technical education (CTE) strands (e.g., financial literacy, computer science foundations, engineering applications, and data science) and problemâbased learning tied to South Floridaâs industries and higher education opportunities.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum
- Plan and teach a rigorous, standardsâaligned math curriculum (including Honors and advanced pathways) that meets Floridaâs B.E.S.T. Standards and MiamiâDade advanced program expectations.
- Design unit plans that develop mathematical reasoning across technology-rich instruction and inquiry-driven pedagogy, leveraging project-based learning to strengthen real-world application of concepts (finance, computer programming, engineering design).
Assessment & Data
- Develop assessments and performance tasks aligned to state benchmarks and advanced programs; use data to provide targeted support and track mastery.
- Prepare students for state exams, collegeâreadiness benchmarks, and advanced program entry points (AP, AICE, IB, Dual Enrollment).
Advanced Programs & Pathways
- Collaborate with the mathematics department to ensure vertical alignment from Algebra I through advanced math courses.
- Provide equitable access to rigorous coursework that prepares students for AP, AICE, IB, and Dual Enrollment math.
CTE Integration
- Embed CTE competencies and prepare students for industryârecognized certifications relevant to mathematics applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel Specialist, OSHAâ10, Introduction to Coding, Data Analytics Fundamentals).
- Complete required CTE coursework and state examinations within the prescribed timeline (see Qualifications) and maintain all related credentials.
Culture & Family Partnership
- Model and uphold KIPP Miamiâs Heartbeat Principles in all interactions; create an inclusive, purposeful classroom culture with high expectations and joy.
- Partner with families through transparent progress reporting, studentâled conferences, and proactive communication.
