Live-in Carer Job Description
As a Home Instead Warminster & Gillingham Live-in Care Professional, you will make a significant difference in our customers' lives by helping them to stay living in their own homes. Elderly care is important for the clients' mental health, but it can be an extremely rewarding career for you. Live-in Care workers are a massive part of the care industry and are exceptional carers.
Professional Live-in Carer Responsibilities:
- Companionship - conversing with the older person, spending time together and providing emotional support.
- Daily Living - Assisting with washing, getting dressed, and, if needed, continence support.
- Personal Care - help clients to get dressed, showering and looking after a client's hygiene.
- Providing mobility support - some consumers require assistance getting around their homes.
- Medication supervision - all following the customer's care plan
- Household duties/Chores - Cleaning, vacuuming, and washing clothes
- Meal preparation and cooking
- Pet Care - Feeding pets, walking dogs and taking them to the vets if needed
- Daily Activity & Public Outings - assistance with duties such as grocery shopping, medication pick-up or taking a client to appointments.
- Other medical assistance - additional first-aid training is offered for more sophisticated support needs.
