The Head of AML (Client Onboarding & RegCom) is responsible for leading and overseeing the Anti-Money Laundering, Combatting the Financing of Terrorist and Proliferation Financing and Financial Crime (AML/CFT) framework for client onboarding, due diligence and regulatory compliance activities across the jurisdiction. The role ensures robust and effective AML/CTF controls, alignment with group standards and regulatory requirements and the delivery of a high-quality client due-diligence experience.
This role provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and subject-matter expertise, working collaboratively with senior stakeholders, local regulators, Client Services and Risk and Compliance, to safeguard IQEQ and its clients. The Head of AML contributes to continuous improvement, risk mitigation, and the development of a strong compliance culture aligned with IQ-EQ’s values of being Authentic, Bold, and Collaborative.
What you will do
- Responsible for the management, oversight and development of the IQEQ Mauritius AML Unit, consisting of the Client On-Boarding Team and RegCom.
- Act as the lead of the AML Team and reporting at the ACE Committee; Client Risk Oversight Committee; Risk and Compliance Committee and other compliance related meetings, upon request.
- Support the business in onboarding new clients and new Investors in Client Funds, encompassing Client Reviews and other first line risk assurance activities.
- Ensure appropriate level of oversight of any CDD related activities conducted by the AML Team (including GCD India) which includes advising on CDD requirements, review of CDD, conduct screening etc.
- Ensure all CDD/KYC, Serviced Entity data input, and record keeping across core systems as well as AML team scope, objectives and deliverables are delivered efficiently and successfully.
- Act as data integrity gatekeeper for the various systems by ensuring that the team follows the published operational controls in order to support the integrity of new and existing data stored.
- Responsible for ensuring the career aspirations and development needs of any CDD & On-Boarding Team members under direct line management responsibility are managed by holding effective “Everyday Conversations”.
