In this role, students support day-to-day facilities operations and maintenance activities across corporate buildings and related systems. You will gain hands-on experience assisting with routine maintenance, inspections, minor repairs, and service requests while working alongside certified trades and experienced facilities staff. This role provides practical exposure to facilities operations, work order systems, safety practices, and building systems in a professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with routine, unskilled to semi-skilled maintenance activities across facilities, including basic electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building tasks, under guidance and supervision.
- Support certified and licensed trades staff during inspections, maintenance, and repairs of building systems and equipment.
- Perform scheduled and emergency facility inspections and maintenance activities using established checklists; document findings and complete required logs and records.
- Complete assigned work orders and service requests鈥攂oth routine and urgent鈥攗sing the facilities work order system, following established priorities and timelines.
- Assist with building lighting inspections and relamping as required.
- Assist with furniture, fixture, and equipment (FFE) installations, relocations, and setups within and between buildings, including use of material handling equipment and company vehicles where authorized.
- Maintain accurate records related to completed work, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Follow all corporate policies, safety procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements related to facilities, life safety, and environmental practices.
- Support general facilities operations and perform other related duties as assigned.
