Job Description
Ā The Operations Manager leads the plant's manufacturing and functional operations to achieve customer satisfaction and meet critical business objectives. This position is accountable for the overall leadership and operation of the Foundry and Factory facilities in the most safe, efficient and profitable fashion consistent with Crouse ā Hinds goals. This includes defining strategy and execution of the Amarillo operations by leading and driving all initiatives and operations in relation to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost/Productivity and Inventory for the facilityĀ
Essential Functions:Ā
A.Promotes and incorporates safety as an integral part of the culture and demands focused safety and quality results from the entire organization. Builds and sustains a Zero Incident Culture.Ā
B.Leads the organization in allocating resources, solving problems, and implementing change.Ā
C.Informs divisional levels of management of progress, goals, strategies and risks associated with day-to-day operations at the Amarillo facility.Ā
D.Identifies and implements methods and practices to achieve operational improvements in efficiency, quality, delivery and operating profits.Ā
E.Oversees the implementation and sustainment of the Management of Environment, Safety, Security, and Health (MESH) program, Quality System, Lean and Six Sigma (ELSS), delivery, cost productivity, inventory performance and Business System (EBS) initiativesĀ
F.Approves and manages the facilityās budget. Approves expenditures for supplies, materials, and human resources, ensuring that materials, labor and equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets.Ā
G.Define & manage appropriate materials inventory levels in order to provide control over investment based on sales forecast.Ā
H.Develops and communicates initiatives to measure and improve key business driversĀ
I.Provides strategy to the local management team for the Amarillo location on short term and long term direction based on the overall vision and sustainability of the facility.Ā
J.Develops and implements plans to enhance the quality of work life and culture within the plant by assuring that open channels of communication exist with employees; participative employee teams are cultivated and trained; and clean, safe working conditions are maintained.
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) Basic Qualifications:Ā
⢠Bachelorās degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited institution is required.Ā
⢠Minimum 7 years of working experience in a manufacturing environment is required.Ā
⢠Minimum 3 years of managerial experience in a manufacturing environment is required.Ā
⢠Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.Ā
Preferred Qualifications:Ā
⢠Masterās degree from an accredited institutionĀ
⢠Black Belt CertificationĀ
⢠Leadership experience in high accountability culture and metrics driven environmentĀ
⢠Advanced knowledge of manufacturing operations and quality methodsĀ
⢠Previous operations management experienceĀ
⢠Previous experience working in a foundry environmentĀ
Position Criteria:Ā
⢠Experience with Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma continuous improvement toolsĀ
⢠Demonstrated ability to motivate a team for maximum resultsĀ
⢠Working knowledge of current manufacturing, engineering, materials/purchasing and quality assurance methods and practicesĀ
⢠Thorough understanding of financial practices and financial statements, including capital equipment analysis, cost accounting, budgeting, project cost analysis, maintenance analysis, and organizational techniquesĀ
⢠Demonstrated ability to drive change and successfully lead and implement change activitiesĀ
⢠Working knowledge of information systems, human resources and driving key projects and plant initiativesĀ
⢠Proficiency in business software programs (i.e. Microsoft Office)Ā
⢠Demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships with all levels of employees
