Job Description
This position functions in the Engineering department with emphasis on supporting all Product Engineering and Project Management related activities for multiple connector product families. The products are used in multiple and different military, aerospace and subsea applications. All product lines are focused on harsh environments for electro-mechanical equipment. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this position will independently support and direct a broad range of product design activities related to the several different product families. The Product Engineer willÂ
have the responsibility for all technical project activities including highâlevel design concepts as well as detailed design. They will coordinate project with the manufacturing team which includes leading a project team that will address design, quality, safety, manufacturability issues as well as cost reduction projects.Â
Principal AccountabilitiesÂ
Design feasibility studies, mechanical specification reviews, design failure mode analysis.Â
Develop and evaluate new design concepts, selecting and evaluatingÂ
materials.Â
Perform detailed design calculations, building and evaluating newÂ
design prototypes, as well as the release of all engineeringÂ
documentation related to the product design.Â
Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinating manufacturingÂ
activities related to product developments with the manufacturingÂ
team.Â
Meet with customer on regular basis to understand requirements andÂ
to communicate status, and the coordination of new toolingÂ
development, etc.Â
Support new product proposals through performing EngineeringÂ
analysis, estimate and proposal to acquire new or additional business.Â
Prepare for review, the technical/Engineering cost proposals, pricingÂ
including review /analysis of customer requirements andÂ
specificationsÂ
Establish part numbering and interface with our customers regardingÂ
technical coordination
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) Basic Qualifications:Â
⢠Bachelor Science Degree in Mechanical EngineeringÂ
from an accredited institution.Â
⢠Minimum of 5 years of experience in Engineering Design orÂ
Product/Project Engineering in the connector or actuator industry.Â

which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms RegulationsÂ

Position Criteria:Â
⢠Familiarity with connector design technology and exposure to theÂ
manufacturing process used inÂ
⢠electrical connector manufacture (including molding, stamping,Â
plating, and assembly) required.Â
⢠Familiarity and experience with military, SAE and/or UL standardsÂ
and test requirements that pertain toÂ
⢠electrical connectors required.Â
⢠Strong knowledge of tooling, production quality control.Â
⢠Strong product design experience.Â
⢠Computer proficiency with Solidworks 3D design requiredÂ
⢠Proven ability to develop detailed configuration packages based onÂ
