The Engineering Department is seeking a talented Engineer to join the Information Management group and contribute to CERN's digital engineering transformation. The team delivers the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system that manages millions of engineering assets and supports over 5,000 specialists. As part of the CAD/PLM Service team, you'll focus on evolving CERN's engineering tools into a connected digital ecosystem, improving efficiency and laying the foundation for future 3D Digital Twins.
Your responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on CAD/PLM expertise, resolving technical issues and promoting best practices.
- Ensure reliable system performance for 5,000+ specialists by validating new features.
- Deliver training and workshops on Digital Engineering tools.
- Translate user and organizational needs into functional requirements, collaborating with developers.
- Streamline engineering document management within the Digital Thread.
- Analyse next-generation use cases, including 3D Digital Twins and OpenUSD-based pipelines with AI capabilities.
- This role includes team supervision responsibilities.
Your profile:
- Hands-on experience with major 3D design platforms such as CATIA V5, Siemens NX, PTC Creo and/or AutoDesk Revit, Bricsys BricsCAD.
- Experience with Product/CAD exchange formats as well as 3D visualisation standards (OpenUSD) will be a plus.
Skills:
- Business analysis: needs assessment, requirements gathering, process modelling.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills; experienced in troubleshooting complex issues.
- Collaborative team player with mentoring and knowledge-sharing experience.
- Familiarity with NVIDIA Omniverse or similar 3D/virtual collaboration platforms would be a plus.
- Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the basics of the other language.
Eligibility criteria:
- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
- You have a professional background in Engineering (or a related field) and have either:
- a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;
- or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
