As a Natural Resource Management Engineer, you will actively contribute to support CERN in limiting its impact on the environment, mainly in the domain of Biodiversity.
Your responsibilities
- Establish and monitor indicators to track biodiversity evolution on CERN sites.
- Continue work on light pollution, hedgerow network creation and wetland mapping.
- Centralise all biodiversity-related data and inventories (e.g., bats, lichens, etc.).
- Provide biodiversity expertise for implementing protection measures.
- Ensure field presence to verify the application of rules and best practices on construction and maintenance sites.
- Monitor invasive species and habitats of interest through regular field visits.
- Follow up on protection and compensation measures, such as orchid transplantation or nesting box maintenance.
- Promote biodiversity awareness and best practices through HSE communication.
Your profile
- Biodiversity monitoring, including inventories on fauna and flora.
- Coordination for the implementation of protection measures.
- Knowledge of EU regulations in Biodiversity, in particular French and Swiss Environmental regulations.
- Development of environmental indicators to assess habitat and species trends.
- Management and consolidation of ecological inventories and field data.
- Promote biodiversity awareness.

Eligibility criteria:
- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
- By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Natural Resource Management (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
- Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
- Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.
