We are seeking a motivated engineer to join the Inductive Adder (IA) R&D project : an innovative technology under development for the Multi-Turn Extraction kicker magnet in the Proton Synchrotron.
The IA will significantly improve the sustainability of kicker generators and pave the way for the future of fast-pulsed systems at CERN.
As part of the team, you will design, develop, and test the operational control systems for the inductive adder as part of a cutting-edge solid-state switched generator.
You will have the opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a culturally diverse environment in the Electronics Section of the Accelerator Beam Transfer Group (ABT). The job includes full development of a hardware control crate with test/validation testbench.
Your responsibilities:
- Assist in hardware design, reviews and production.
- Design, produce and test mixed digital and analog electronic modules (PCB) including high voltage parts.
- Design, produce and test backplanes (PCB) to be integrated in a mechanical crate.
- Design, produce and test the full control crate including control and High Voltage distribution interfaces.
- Additionally, you will be asked to participate to the integration and deployment of the Hardware on site.
