Design electrical systems for solar PV, hybrid (Solar + Grid + Diesel), and battery energy storage applications;
Perform advanced AC and DC system calculations including:
- Load flow analysis,
- Cable sizing and voltage drop,
- Protection coordination and device selection,
- Battery autonomy and lifecycle modelling,
Develop detailed single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, grounding layouts, panel and cabinet layouts;
Support present and future grid-connected / utility-interactive system interconnection requirements;
Assist in the design and application of transformers, switchgear and LV/MV distribution equipment;
Support the integration of protection and control, PLC, SCADA and monitoring systems;
Prepare equipment specifications, datasheets, Bills of Material (BOMs) and material take-offs;
Review and coordinate vendor technical submissions and engineering documentation;
Participate in technical evaluation of suppliers, technologies and design options;
Contribute to proposal development, RFP technical documentation and estimating support;
Support FAT, SAT and commissioning activities as required;
Conduct site visits and technical assessments;
Prepare design reports, calculation summaries and as-built documentation;
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with codes, standards and client expectations;
Mentor junior designers and contribute to knowledge development within the team;
Support continuous improvement of engineering tools, templates and workflows.
