As part of the testing team, technician will be responsible to execute testing and instrumentation activities as regards Chassis, Active Safety and Durability programs. The role requires someone highly organized, objectively-focused, and with ability to manage their own daily routine.
Responsibilities:
- Perform initial parts set-up including digital pictures, micrometer measurements, visual inspections and parts labeling.
- Execute vehicle maintenance and component retrofits (brakes, suspension, etc.) in accordance with the preventative maintenance plan and specific testing protocols.
- Maintain and monitor test facility conditions daily to ensure compliance with accelerated corrosion testing standards. This includes climatic chamber, salt water basin, and mud pit facilities.
- Execute driving cycles on closed fatigue tracks and public roads in accordance with established testing protocols.
- Install sensors and data acquisition as required for vehicle tests.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair all defects found during testing.
- Organize and create labels of tests’ samples using internal SW tools (vehicle and test parts).
- Transport instrumented test vehicles to the proving ground test facilities (around 120 miles roundtrip).
- Ensure that test activities are performed in accordance with the test procedures and test books/checklists. Collect and record all data necessary for the completion of the test report.
- Record when required the videos of the vehicle test maneuvers run in the proving ground with the provided video camera.
- Report to a Senior Technician or Test Engineer the data generated, progress and status of any tasks deployed
