Key role objectives
The SharePoint Engineer will assume responsibility primarily as a MS SharePoint 2010 operations specialist with potential responsibility in other Collaboration platforms. This is a Level 2 operations role and entails maintaining a SharePoint platform comprising approximately 100 servers, serving in excess of 90,000 end-users globally. This will include: product upgrades; platform lifecycle management; new platform deployments and migration; incident, problem and change management, and generating platform metrics. Out of hours on call support duties and shift work are required for this role on a rotational basis in order to support a truly global user-base.Day-to-day responsibility wil be to operate the platform as the technical and subject matter expert for SharePoint 2010 and FastSearch 2010 platforms, to deliver a stable and optimized environment.
The role requires regular interaction with the Desktop, Product Management, Engineering teams and external vendors, so good communication skills are essential.
Core Tasks
- Support SharePoint 2010 environment
- Participate in regular maintenenace and DR events
- Level 2/3 escalations for above technologies
- Compliance & Litigation Requests
- Root Cause Analysis of incidents
- Maintaining operational documents
- Managing and maintaining mobile device infrastructure (BlackBerry and Good for Enterprise) ;
TO QUALIFY, YOU MUST POSSESS:
List qualifications, skills and certifications (bullet form recommended).
- Experience of supporting enterprise scale SharePoint Collaboration platform
- ITIL or equivalent certification
- Basic knowledge of Active Directory
- Understanding of MS SharePoint 2010 or 2013
- Customer focused
- PowerShell (intermediate)
- Effective Communication skills
- Good troubleshooting and analytical problem solving skills
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Passion for technology and self improvement
- Capable of working independently or part of a wider geographically distributed team
Desirable
- Knowledge of IIS and SQL technologies
- Knowledge of DocAve and Control Point
- Experience of working in the Financial Industry
- Powershell scripting - automation and batch tasks
