What you will do
- Develop and maintain robust PHP applications across the entire payment lifecycle
- Implement and advocate for Extreme Programming (XP) practices such as Slicing, TDD, Pair/Mob Programming, Continuous Delivery, and Continuous Integration
- Write secure, scalable, and maintainable code with a focus on clean architecture and performance
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and DevOps to design APIs and microservices for high-volume transaction systems
- Ensure all code meets the highest standards of quality, testing, and reliability
- Contribute to a culture of learning, experimentation, and technical excellence
Who you are
- 6+ years of experience working with PHP (we use PHP 8.3)
- Practical experience building REST APIs
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, or equivalent data storage systems
- Experience with messaging systems (e.g. SQS, Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Strong knowledge of Git and modern development workflows
- Self-motivated, responsible, and collaborative working style
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on attitude
- Passionate about continuous learning and sharing knowledge
- Experience and understanding of cloud-based applications and site reliability engineering
- Solid grasp of software architecture principles such as event-driven, hexagonal, or microservice architectures
Nice to have
- Experience with high-volume, load-intensive environments
- Background in highly integrated system landscapes
- Knowledge of payment systems or financial technologies
