We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our Fleet Solutions team, focused on delivering next-generation connected tire monitoring technologies for commercial trucks and trailers. This role will contribute to the development and deployment of advanced fleet health systems, including Tire-as-a-Service (TaaS) platforms, leveraging tire-mounted sensors, vehicle telematics, and cloud-based analytics (AWS). You will play a key role in designing, integrating, and validating intelligent solutions that enhance tire safety, uptime, and fleet efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. System Architecture & Design:
- Develop and maintain end-to-end system architectures for truck and trailer tire monitoring systems.
- Define and document system-level performance, reliability, and cybersecurity requirements aligned with fleet use cases.
- Collaborate with product managers, algorithm teams, hardware engineers, and fleet customers to translate operational needs into scalable solutions.
2. Sensor & Hardware Integration:
- Design and integrate tire-mounted sensors, trailer-mounted gateways, and vehicle telematics devices.
- Ensure interoperability across tractors and trailers, including mixed-fleet and retrofit scenarios.
- Support vehicle validation and interface with SAE J1939 / CAN protocols as needed.
3. System Validation & Testing:
- Develop test strategies for on-vehicle and bench testing of tire monitoring and alerting systems.
- Execute field testing with fleets to verify sensor accuracy, cloud connectivity, and alert logic.
- Support troubleshooting during fleet trials and early-stage deployments.
4. Cloud & Data Integration:
- Leverage AWS-based platforms to enable real-time data collection, health scoring, and remote diagnostics.
- Work closely with data engineers to define API interactions, data models, and over-the-air (OTA) communication paths.
5. Documentation & Compliance:
- Create and maintain system documentation including architecture diagrams, interface definitions, and test reports.
- Support compliance to industry standards and fleet safety regulations (e.g., FMCSA, 49 CFR 393.52).
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Strong understanding of vehicle systems, especially in commercial fleets (Class 6–8 trucks and trailers).
- Experience with model-based development tools (MATLAB/Simulink).
- Proficiency in AWS or other cloud platforms and IoT architectures.
- Experience with sensor integration, hardware/software co-design, and validation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Systems, Mechatronics, or Automotive Engineering.
- Experience with fleet telematics platforms, tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS), or TaaS models.
- Familiarity with SAE J1939, CAN bus, and vehicle diagnostics standards.
- Knowledge of machine learning, predictive analytics, or real-time alerting systems.
- Exposure to ISO 26262 or automotive safety-critical systems development.
- Experience working with Salesforce to support customer-facing solutions, case management, or integration with cloud-based platforms.
