Primary Purpose of Position:
As the Business Center Manager, you ensure that the manufacturing processes within your business center consistently meet all objectives related to safety, quality, cost, and delivery. You drive your business centerâs performance toward full scorecard attainment.
You create a culture of continuous improvement by using plant optimization pillars to engage your associates and elevate performance. You lead focused improvement (FI) initiatives within the business center with a strong sense of urgency.
You also champion the continuous skill development (CSD) of your associates and develop workforce planning processes to ensure strong succession planning within your business center.
Your Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead your business center team using plant optimization principles to ensure that safety, quality, production, and delivery goals are consistently achieved.
- Through plant optimization and associate engagement, foster an environment that promotes the growth and development of your business center associates. You leverage the CSD pillar, support professional development, and ensure compliance with Goodyear policies. You provide coaching and development to the Area Managers within your business center.
- Create and implement long-term operational strategies that support both plant-level and regional objectives.
- Monitor and control all costs within your scope, including labor, materials, and equipment-related expenses.
Your Education Requirements
- Required: Bachelorâs degree or a 3âyear diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Preferred: Diploma in Lean Operations Management
Your Experience Requirements
You bring:
- 15+ years of experience in manufacturing within component preparation areas (Mixing, Extrusion, Calendaring, Beads, Cutters)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to drive change through effective influencing
- Experience working in both unionized and nonâunionized environments
- A proven track record of developing highâperforming teams
