As a Gensler Project Architect - Critical Facilities , you will collaborate with our Practice Area Leaders and Design Directors to develop design solutions as well as coordinate the design through the construction documentation phase of a project. What You Will DoĀ
Collaborate on design projects in the critical facilities, life sciences, and healthcare practice areas, including programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development and documentationĀ
Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectivesĀ
Documentation coordination with consultants (structural, MEP, lighting, AV, acoustical, accessibility, building envelope, life safety, etc.)Ā
Assist in resolving complex technical and design issuesĀ
Assist in managing client expectations, team communication, and consultant coordinationĀ
Provide project team coordination for the finished plans, specifications, and material selections required for constructionĀ
Participate in the construction administration of projects and review of submittals and finish samplesĀ
Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programsĀ
Your QualificationsĀ
Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited schoolāÆĀ Ā
Licensure requiredĀ Ā
10+years of experience in the profession of architectural designĀ Ā
Experience within Critical Facilities projects (i.e. data centers, command and control centers, high-performance computing, etc.) healthcare projects, or similarly complex projects (i.e. science/labs/national labs, light-industrial/manufacturing, high-tech manufacturing, healthcare, aviation & transportation, etc.) preferredĀ
Proficiency with SketchUp, 3D Max, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred, but not requiredĀ Ā
Strong Revit, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Microsoft Office experience desired. AutoCAD, Sketchup, Rhino, Enscape, VRay also beneficialĀ
Experience managing multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, and civil consultantsĀ Ā
Experience working directly with contractorsĀ Ā
Experience resolving complex technical and design issuesĀ Ā
Experience performing zoning and code analysis in multiple jurisdictionsĀ Ā
Understanding of how buildings are constructed, along with the ability to create technical documents that succinctly, thoroughly, and accurately describe the work to be doneĀ Ā
Understanding of sustainable and universal design conceptsĀ Ā
Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skillsĀ Ā
Previous experience in sustainable design projects preferable. Especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel and /or Net Zero Building certificationĀ
