Job Summary: We are seeking an Engineering Operations Manager to lead and optimize the day-to-day operations of our engineering teams. This role will be critical in driving process efficiency, aligning cross-functional initiatives, and ensuring that engineering projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. The ideal candidate has a strong background in engineering or technical project management, excellent communication skills, and a passion for operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operational Leadership: Develop and implement operational processes that support engineering productivity, resource planning, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Program & Project Management: Oversee timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation across engineering initiatives; monitor risks and dependencies to ensure smooth execution.
• Performance & Metrics: Define and track KPIs, OKRs, and other performance metrics to measure and improve engineering efficiency and delivery.
Budget & Vendor Management: Assist in budget planning, forecast spend, and manage relationships with external vendors and contractors.
• Tools & Infrastructure: Evaluate and implement tools, workflows, and automation to streamline engineering operations and reporting.
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the liaison between engineering and other departments (Product, Finance, HR, etc.) to align goals, priorities, and timelines. Continuous Improvement: Identify pain points and implement best practices in engineering processes, agile ceremonies, and release planning.
Minimum Job Requirements:
• Four-year college degree in Engineering (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline) or Business Operations.
• Ten (10)+ years of experience.
• Experience in creating, analyzing, documenting, and testing system and subsystem designs.
• Mental ability to perform engineering problem-solving and analytical tasks.
• Familiarity with project management principles.
• Must be able to work under project deadlines and be able to establish and maintain engineering project schedules and cost budgets.
• Must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Must communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form.
• Requires strong team building and multi-tasking skills.
• Must be a proactive leader who is decisive and action-oriented, and can liaise effectively with project teams, project managers, and customers (internal and external).
• Project management qualifications, such as PMI PMP, are desired.
