JOB SUMMARY
Cox FleetĀ is currently hiring aShop Trailer Mechanic I.āÆThis is a dedicated on-site shoppositionand we do not provide emergency side of the roadtype ofrepairs. If you are looking for a new place to call home, we would love to talk to you!TheShop Trailer Technician I willbe responsible forperforming DOT inspections, Preventative Maintenance inspections, light repairs, and other duties as assigned such as aluminum and chem-lite, trailer brakes, air lines, auxiliarypumpsand engines, liftgates, and brake chambers. The Shop TrailerTechnician Ican perform more advanced repairs under the supervision of a Shop Trailer Technician II or higher.Ā The Shop Trailer Technician IassistsShop Trailer Technician II or higher Technicians with repairs and continues to learnadditionaladvanced mechanical skills and diagnosis.Ā A successful Shop TrailerTechnicianIcomplieswith all company policies andachieveshigh level performance metrics.Ā
DUTIES
Always follows andcomplieswith safe operating practices and procedures.Ā
Independentlydeterminepartsrequiredfor each job and interact with the Shop Parts Department toobtain them.Ā
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.Ā Assistin cleanup at the end of each day for tools, parts, and equipment.Ā
Applies knowledge that isacquiredthrough formal training or on-the-job experience to perform one's job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job.Ā
Work withServiceWriter to assess customer needs,providinginformation orassistance,resolvingtheir problems, orsatisfyingtheir expectations.
Manage concurrent assigned tasks, making effective judgments as to prioritizing work related activities and time allocations.
Act with integrity,demonstratehonestyand keep commitments. Behave in a consistent manner, keeping sensitive information confidential and adhering to ethical and professional standards.Ā
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (āPMā), DOT Inspections and follow up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a Shop environment.
Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment.
Use hand tools, precision instruments, as well as Trailer tools, welding equipment,liftsand jacks.
Document according to company standards and upload pictures of work performed, parts used, and all findingsobservedon Repair Orders (āROā) using company issued device and/orKarmakapplication.Ā
Accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation intimelyfashion.
Maintaina high levelof productivity and be able to work within or close to most Standard Repair Times.
Communicate withShopManager and support team to obtain approvals on repair estimates, retrieve purchase order numbers and/or discuss RO findings notes.
Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health and environmental policies, and federal regulations,to includeOSHA, EPA, and DOT.
Participate and complete all-in companyrequiredsafety training.
MaintainShop assigned service trucks, conduct safetychecksand daily pre/post trip inspections.Ā <
