As a Registered Nurse, you will partner with fellow caregivers to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care from the first introduction through the final send-off. This position supports the outpatient pediatric clinic at Cleveland Clinic’s main campus, a dynamic environment featuring 59 exam rooms organized into five pods and nursing stations. The clinic serves general pediatrics as well as all pediatric subspecialties at main campus, with each subspecialty aligned to a designated pod and supported by a dedicated primary nursing team (LPNs and MAs/CTs). In this role, you will work closely with providers to prepare patients for visits, assist with in-clinic procedures, deliver patient and family education, and support daily clinical operations.
You will also collaborate with the nursing team to manage clinical in-basket responsibilities, including MyChart messages, prior authorizations, medication refills, and scheduling inquiries. This is a developing and evolving role, ideal for an RN who is adaptable, open to change, and eager to support both provider and patient needs. While primarily based at Main Campus, there may be opportunities to support providers at regional locations on scheduled dates to ensure continuity and high-quality care.
A caregiver in this position worksdays| M-F| 8:00am—5:00pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephonetriage,andestablishcare plans.
Administermedicationand treatments.
Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.
Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings.
Assistwith specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeuticprocedures,and specialized patient care equipment.
Develop, evaluate,adaptand document health education and provide it to patients and families.
Cover other nursing roles within the department.
Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures, as needed.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accreditedSchool ofNursing(ADN or BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS)Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
One yearof recent experience as an RNORLPN, MedicalAssistantand/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experienceif applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role butremainingin the same current ambulatory Cleveland Clinic setting ORa current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area
