As an MRI Technologist, you will perform routine MRI exams and procedures on patients of all ages, healthbackgroundsand conditions. You will ensure they feel comfortable,safeand properly informed throughout the entire process, helpingfacilitatea welcoming and supportive experience. A caregiver in this position works weekend days from 6:30AMā7:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:Ā
Prepare and check patients prior toMRIprocedure.
Acquireand review patientquestionnaire,chartand data/requisitiontodeterminecontraindication of having MRIexamination.Ā
Verify andvalidatepatient screening safety form.
Perform MRI proceduresrequiredper protocol and perform daily QA.Ā
Perform Venipuncture andmaintaincompetencies.
Educate patientsregardingMRI procedures,equipmentand exams.Ā
Ensure patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam.Ā
Assistwith scheduling of patients.
Administer proper contrast related topatienthaving MRIexam.
Acquire, archive,transmitandprintimages via PACS.
Completeafter hourstransmission of images andappropriate paperwork.
Report any malfunctions,observepotential equipmentdysfunctionsand report problems or calls for service.Ā
Maintain available equipment up-time at the highest level for patient accessibility.Ā
Processes billing via RIS.Ā
Instruct and mentor new hires and Radiology students.Ā
Attend in-service programs and professional affiliation sessions.
Potentially rotate through all imaging modalities sites, and/or locations.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Ā
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or an accredited institution per the primary pathway of the ARRTĀ
Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists [R.T.(R) (ARRT), R.T.(S)(ARRT) or R.T.(T)(ARRT)] in good standing OR Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists [R.T.(N) (ARRT)] OR Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification BoardĀ
Magnetic Resonance Imaging [R.T.(MR)(ARRT)] Certification within one year of hireĀ
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross
Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Ā
One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist or in other imaging modalities
Physical Requirements:
Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
Requires frequent pushing and pulling of equipment up to 75 pounds.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
