Ensure all technologists within this section, as well as oneself, are fully competent to perform all CT/MRI procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of specified diseases or conditions. Serve as the resource person and senior technologist within the CT/MRI Section of Radiology.The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below. In addition, specific functions may change from time to time:
Responsible for leading the operational, fiscal, and human resources for the CT/MRI section
Management responsibilities for CT/MRI Technologists
Actively participate in clinical education of student technologists and new employees
Assess patients, review chart for orders and lab results, confirm signature on consent forms and communicate with Radiologist as to the availability of all of the above and reason for the procedure
Coordinate CT/MRI Safety training for Health System
Facilitate and ensure annual review of position description and policies/procedures
Interview, hire, coordinate orientation for new employees and completes performance evaluations of employees
Maintain accurate record of patient care
Maintain exceptional guest relations with patients, visitors, hospital staff and medical staff
Monitor budget and variances, reports as required
Monitor quality of care based on ongoing monitors striving for continuous quality improvement
Participate in assigned committees representing radiology, serves as liaison and updates members of radiology leadership as appropriate
Perform other supervisory duties, including but not limited to, work schedules, performance evaluations, counseling, budget preparation and fiscal responsibility
Prepare patients for procedure, answers any questions or directs questions to the Radiologist
Provide safe environment, including but not limited to, magnetic field precautions, contrast safety, infection control guidelines and universal precautions
Responsible for beginning and ending each procedure in the computer system to ensure proper patient billing for services
Review the âended but not transcribedâ list and corrects any issues daily
Other duties as assigned
The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:
High school diploma or equivalent required
ARRT registered required for MRI Supervisor
Advanced AART (CT) registry required for CT Supervisor
AHA (American Heart Association) Healthcare Provider CPR required
3 years experience as a CT/MRI Tech required
1 year experience as CT/MRI supervisor or manager in a hospital-based radiology department preferred

Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
Ability to bend and lift up to 100 pounds, carry objects up to 50 pounds
Position may involve skin, eye, or mucous membrane contact with blood or other potentially infectious material
