THE ROLE
The Custodial Supervisoris responsible forsupporting the day-to-day operations of the Environmental Services department and ensuring work assignments are completed efficiently, safely, and within established timelines and budgets.
Reporting to the Environmental Services Operations Manager, this role provides leadership and direction to frontline team members while ensuringhigh standardsof cleanliness, safety, and service throughout the facility. The Custodial Supervisor must be a self-starter who works effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization and can successfully adapt to changing priorities and operational demands in a fast-paced convention center environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Leadership
Provide leadership and direction for day-to-day operations of Environmental Services team members to meet the needs of internal and external customers.
Assign andmonitordaily work schedules to ensuretimelycompletion of operational tasks.
Ensure productivity, service quality, and safety standards are consistently met.
Coordinate staffing, scheduling, andmanpowerplanning to meet operational demands.
Team Management & Employee Relations
Support absence management, employee discipline, coaching, and performance management activities.
Assistwith training, onboarding, and development of Environmental Services staff.
Foster a positive team environment that promotes accountability, teamwork, and morale.
Coordinate with shift counterparts to ensure smooth transitions between shifts.
Operations Coordination
Collaborate with other departmental managers todetermineoperational needs for customer events.
Manage beginning and end-of-shift reports documenting service delivery, safety issues, equipment concerns, and employee relations matters.
Ensure proper communication and handoff of operational information between shifts.
Inventory & Administrative Duties
Oversee operational supply levels and inventory needs.
Support office management and administrative responsibilities within the department.
Ensure compliance with operational policies and procedures.
Equipment Operation &Safety
Operate self-propelled material handling or mechanical lift equipment asrequired.
Monitor the safe and effective use of equipment by team members.
Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and reporting procedures.
Continuous Improvement & Reporting
Observe and analyze departmental operations toidentifyefficiency improvements.
Report operational findings and recommendations to senior leadership
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and efficiency.
Other duties as assigned, including special projects.

QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required;Associateās or Bachelorāsdegree preferred.
Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressively responsible housekeeping or environmental services experience; equivalent experience will be considered.
Previoussupervisory experience preferred.
Experience working in a unionized environment preferred.
Prior experience working in large hotels and/or convention center operationsstronglypreferred.
Basic computerproficiencyand familiarity with standard office software.
