POSITION: Yoga Instructor ā P/T Hourly
Under direct supervision, the Yoga Instructor provides group instruction, monitors, and educates patrons on movement and safety, and maintains a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for class participants.Ā
ESSENTIAL DUTIESĀ
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Ā
Instructs scheduled yoga classes: begin and end on time, provide adequate and effective skills and lessonsĀ
Instructs patrons on appropriate movement methods explains proper techniques, demonstratesĀ
Exercises and identifies different muscle groupsĀ
Prepares appropriate equipment, music, and handouts for each classĀ
Assists patrons, answers questions, and maintains a positive experience for members and class participantsĀ
Keeps management informed of customer and facility needsĀ
Ensures safety standards are met, and department and facility policies are adhered toĀ
Implements and regulates the facilities policies and proceduresĀ
Performs other related duties as requiredĀ
SKILLS REQUIREDĀ
Previous teaching experience in a group setting requiredĀ
Able to teach Yoga classes related to Vinyasa, Hatha, Slow Flow, Restorative, and BeginnersĀ
Self-motivated, with excellent communication and customer service skillsĀ
Punctual, reliable, organized and responsibleĀ
Performs related duties as requiredĀ
QUALIFICATIONSĀ
The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This position requires the ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends and the ability to work with limited supervision.
Completion of a 200hr Yoga Teacher Training with certification (registered/accredited with Yoga Alliance is preferred)
Completion of a Yoga for Youth/Teens Teacher Training with certification
At least six months to a year of experience teaching yoga to youth/teens
First Aid/CPR/AED certification
Have a working knowledge of human anatomy, kinesiology, and training principles
Have working knowledge of group teaching strategies and the incorporation of music, tempo, technique, and rhythm
Ability to be professional and motivate class participants
Ability to cooperate and work well with other staff members

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit for long hours and work with various types of fitness equipment. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally must aide or assist participants. The employee must have the endurance to complete the instruction of the assigned fitness program.Ā
Hours: This position requires the ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays. Able to work specifically on Sundays.
HOURLY RATE: Ā $21.00
