Base pay rate starts at $27.00 per hour
Shift: Full time Day shift, Rotating weekends (required)
The Driver will be expected to safely move, spot, and park trailers throughout the yard using a yard truck/hostler. This position requires a wide range of skills from practicing safe driving and delivery to top-notch customer service.
- Perform daily yard checks and maintain accurate trailer inventory.
- Back trailers into docks with precision; pull completed trailers when loading is finished.
- Assist with securing trailers (chocking wheels, applying glad‑hand locks, checking doors).
- Communicate effectively with warehouse and transportation teams to support schedules.
- Inspect yard tractor before and after each shift; report maintenance issues immediately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free yard environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures, DOT yard rules, and facility traffic guidelines.
- Support Shipping/Receiving and Operations with special tasks as needed.
- Ability to maneuver 48’ and 53’ trailers safely in tight spaces.
- Strong understanding of yard safety rules and trailer handling procedures.
- Ability to operate a yard spotter truck with hydraulic fifth wheel.
- Reliable attendance and strong communication skills.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions and perform physical tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate trailer counts.
