As a Engineer - Structural (Dams & Hydropower) team you will provide support to a variety of dam safety engineering projects, primarily in the United States, but not exclusively. The role require proficiency in reviewing pertinent dam information (geotechnical, hydraulic/hydrologic, structural, and construction), performing structural calculations and analyses, and developing design and analysis reports under the supervision of an experienced dam engineer.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical support to dam project managers, including design, analysis, and regulatory compliance activities associated with a variety of dams.
- Perform dam analysis and design such as structural stability and strength analysis of concrete dams and appurtenant structures (spillways, outlet works, and other site civil structures).
- Perform detail checks and quality reviews of other engineer's work.
- Prepare structural evaluation reports, drawings, and specifications for dam projects.
- Prepare structural drawings and visual aids through coordination with the CAD team.
- Communicate with multi-disciplinary teams on various projects related to dams and other hydraulic structures.
- Show a desire to progress toward greater responsibility, including task leadership.
Minimum requirements
- Previous experience with dams, levees, or water retaining structures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs
