Archaeology Field Technician – Levels I to IV

AECOM is currently seeking candidates for Archaeology Field Technician positions (Levels 1 – 4), based out of our offices in London, Barrie, Peterborough, Sault Ste. Marie, Timmins, Thunder Bay, Wawa, Mississauga, or Hamilton. These are unionized positions under the collective agreement with LiUNA.

Technicians will support archaeological fieldwork (Stages 2–4) under the guidance of a Field Supervisor, including artifact recovery, field documentation, and assisting with team leadership and training. Travel across Ontario and working in all weather conditions will be required.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conduct archaeological field work under the guidance of a field supervisor.
• Identify and recover Indigenous and Euro-Canadian artifacts
• Follow Health and Safety protocols adhere to all AECOM procedures.
• Travel extensively across Ontario for extended periods.
• Take on a junior leadership role during field operations.
• Assist the Field Supervisor with technical aspects of field work.
• Contribute to the training of new team members.
• Set an example for teammates and undertake additional tasks as assigned by field supervisors or management.
