Own the performance and reliability of SMT equipment, including printers, placement machines, SPI, AOI, reflow ovens, conveyors, and loaders/unloaders.
Own and maintain all SMT equipment:
Screen Printer (Panasonic, DEK, MPM)
SPI (Koh Young, CyberOptics)
PickāandāPlace (Panasonic/Juki/ASM)
Reflow Oven
AOI, conveyors, loaders/unloaders
Develop and manage preventive maintenance (PM) and calibration schedules.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform root-cause analysis for recurring failures.
Ensure equipment performance meets OEE, CPH, and quality targets.
SMT Process Integration
Support NPI builds with complete equipment setup (printer program, SPI settings, placement program, reflow profile).
Validate process stability through MSA, capability studies (Cp/Cpk), and machine GR&R.
Review stencil design, panel design, fiducial placement, and pickāandāplace constraints.
Automation & Connectivity
Support MES/SAP integration, realātime machine data connectivity, dashboards, and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
Ensure SMEMA/SECSāGEM compatibility for equipment interfacing.
Use machine logs and SPC data to identify trends for improvement.
Quality & Compliance
Maintain compliance with IPCāAā610, IPCā7351, and internal quality standards.
Lead investigations for SMT defects: misalignment, bridging, tombstoning, opens, voids.
Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with cross-functional teams.
Support qualification and audits with customers and suppliers.
