Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity 

We have a permanent vacancy at the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer level in Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour. The successful applicant will contribute to teaching and research across the HRM and OB discipline area. We are particularly interested in HR/OB scholars with demonstrated expertise in quantitative research methods, especially those whose work engages with people analytics and the application of data-driven approaches to understanding workplace behaviour and organisational dynamics.

It is essential that candidates can teach across the HR/OB domain and related quantitative courses. We value candidates whose teaching integrates research in ways that engage and equip students to tackle complex strategic challenges. Teaching capabilities are expected to align with the University of Auckland’s TeachWell framework and preference may be given to an academic with proven ability to adopt innovative pedagogies and to use a variety of teaching methods. 

Candidates should demonstrate the potential to contribute service and citizenship within and beyond the University, as well as to actively participate in Department/Faculty/University committees and activities.

This is a full time (40 hours per week) permanent position (subject to continuation).

The remuneration for this position is $99,788 - $158,904 per annum, depending on the academic level of appointment.

He kōrero mōu | About you

Our ideal candidate will support the Management and International Business Department and, more specifically, the Human Resource–Organisational Behaviour (HR-OB) Disciplinary Area in a wide range of scholarly activities and engagement. You will have strong communication skills and be able to articulate your plans and ideas. Suitably qualified with a PhD in Human Resource Management or Organisational Behaviour (or a closely related discipline), our ideal candidate will also have the following skills and experience:

• Potential (L) or proven track record (SL) in successfully delivering HRM or Organisational Behaviour undergraduate and postgraduate courses in a business school
• Demonstrated potential (L) or established record (SL) of publishing in leading international journals in Human Resource Management, Organisational Behaviour, or closely related disciplines, including evidence of a developing (L) or sustained (SL) portfolio of high-quality publications
• Potential (L) or proven (SL) publication track record in top-ranked disciplinary journals (e.g., Australian Business Deans Council A* or A-ranked, or ABS 4*, 4 or 3-point journals)
• Potential (L) or proven (SL) track record attracting funding from both internal and external reputable funding schemes
• Ability (L) or proven (SL) track record in designing curriculum (part or entire course/programme)
• Ability (L) or proven (SL) track record in successfully supervising graduate students’ research in HRM and/or Organisational Behaviour (PhDs and Masters)
