SOS International LLC is seeking a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) for a $50 million/year operation and maintenance (O&M) and life support services (LSS) contract in the Middle East.
The Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) is responsible for implementing and managing the safety and health program across three geographically dispersed sites. The SSHO ensures compliance with U.S. Government and host nation safety regulations, contract requirements, and industry best practices. This role is critical to fostering a proactive safety culture and ensuring the well-being of all personnel involved in O&M and LSS.
Essential Job Duties
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Site Safety and Health Plan (SSHP) in accordance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and host nation regulations.
- Ensure all safety policies and procedures are effectively communicated and enforced across all sites.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections, hazard assessments, and job hazard analyses (JHAs).
- Lead internal audits and support external audits by clients or regulatory agencies.
- Track and ensure timely closure of safety-related findings and corrective actions.
- Deliver safety orientation and ongoing training for all employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
- Maintain training records and ensure certifications are current and compliant.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and reporting.
- Maintain incident logs and ensure timely submission of reports to stakeholders.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, contract requirements, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety documentation, including safety data sheets (SDS), permits, and inspection records.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and conduct regular drills.
- Coordinate with local emergency services and site leadership to ensure readiness.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters.
- Participate in client meetings, safety briefings, and performance reviews.
- Provide regular safety performance reports and recommendations to leadership.
